Welcome back, Spartan Families!
And an especially warm welcome to our incoming 9th grade and New to BISD families!

It is going to be a great year! We are very excited to be rolling out several building-wide initiatives to help create enhanced predictability, consistency, and structure across our large school. We know that students achieve their best when these key elements are in place. Students will be learning from their teachers on Tuesday about these initiatives and our expectations.

Highlights of initiatives for this school year include:
  • our building-wide cell phone policy found here
  • a digital hall pass program called SmartPass requiring students to sign out of their classroom when they are leaving. This program will help us track and adapt to both the number of students out of class at a time as well as the duration of missed instructional minutes when students need to leave class.
  • And finally, we have created a new school-wide course that will take place each Tuesday for 75 minutes. This course is called Culture, Community, and Self (CCS). Students will earn credit and a grade for this course like they do for all of their high school courses. A syllabus will be shared on the first day.

As always, we value your partnership! Please don't hesitate to reach out to us with questions.

Go Spartans!

Class schedules go live today at 3 p.m.
Student schedules will be live in Skyward Family Access (using student login) at 3 p.m. Students with a “contact counselor” on their schedule should contact their assigned counselor via email or phone to resolve the issue. Schedules are tight this year. Therefore, counselors will only meet with students that do not have a full schedule and students that are incorrectly placed in a math or world language class. There will be no preferential schedule changes made for students. Student schedules are based on student requests done last spring and, in some cases, students did receive one of their alternate elective choices.

PLEASE NOTE: Students may need to reset their Skyward password before accessing schedules.
