Student Support Center

A logo for the Bainbridge High School Student Support Center, featuring a Spartan helmet and the words 'Student Support Center' in bold, blue lettering.

The Spartan Student Support Center is a place where students can get support in a variety of ways.

Some uses of the space are:

  • Students with Section 504 Plans have accommodations that are carried out in the Support Center Space.
  • Students make up a test or a quiz either during their class time or during Makeup Monday on Early Release days.
  • Students who need a calm and quiet space to regroup or get work done.
  • ELL (English Language Learning) students come for help with English language support that’s different from the standard English class at BHS..
  • Students who need help with Executive Functioning Skills can come to get help with organization, prioritization and/or time management. ….and a whole lot more!

  • Sometimes a student…

    • visits to access their 504 accommodations (What is a Section 504 Plan?)
    • has been absent and needs a place to catch up on their work.
    • wants or needs a quiet space to get their work done or take a test/quiz.
    • needs a place to go when things just become “too much.”
    • needs help breaking up a project into smaller, more manageable, parts.
    • wants assistance with staying organized and/or productive.
    • needs to talk-out a project/assignment either while creating it or recording it and doesn’t want to disrupt their general class.

She lives on Bainbridge with two kids, Golden Retriever & husband. She is located in room 228 and can be reached at 206-780-1271 or lnordberg@bisd303.org.

    • Things to calm all the senses (some only when requested): white noise or instrumental music, muted time lapse nature videos on the SmartBoard, a wax warmer with melts that smell like baked goods (think cinnamon rolls, blueberry muffins or blackberry pie) and a small bubbling water fountain.
    • Two padded window seat-benches and a small couch with blankets of various textures (even a weighted one) as well as pillows for cozy reading and/or calm-down opportunities. The classroom also has a mini library of “coffee table” books to choose from.
    • Puzzles, Games, Coloring Pages, Fidgets and other things to help students.
    • Tables with chairs as well as traditional student desks so students can choose the best place for them to work and/or take a test.
