BHS strives to provide each student an equal opportunity to achieve excellence, to graduate with a quality education, and to contribute to a diverse community as a confident and responsible young adult. Bainbridge High School is the district’s only comprehensive high school serving approximately 1,250 students in grades 9-12. Students at Bainbridge High School have access to a challenging college preparatory curriculum that is augmented by a rich and diverse array of elective classes. Our range of course offerings and co-curricular programs exceeds the options available at virtually any other public school our size. Last year 121 (44%) of our seniors were designated Washington Honors Award winners, an award that distinguished them in the top 10% of all graduating seniors in the state. Additionally, a study of first year student performance at the University of Washington confirms that BHS students leave high school well prepared for college level academics. The average GPA for BHS graduates in their first year at the U of W is 3.40. The average GPA for all U of W freshman during the same period was 3.18.
