Welcome to the Adult Living Program.
Our program's purpose is to teach and develop transitional quality-of-life skills for students 18 to 22 who choose to attend the ALP based on the recommendation of their special education team members.
Transitional skills include job readiness skills, life skills independence, hobby and job exploration, adaptive skills, and social-emotional/communication coaching.
I have worked in the special education field for the past 10 years in schools from North Kitsap to Japan. Earlier, I worked with the U.S. Navy quality of life programs helping military families assimilate to life in the military. I also worked with Veterans seeking transition from the military into the civilian sector while navigating military retirement and/or connected disabilities.
We all go through life transitions that challenge us to connect with coping mechanisms and resources, including a good support network to help us be productive in this process. Each ALP participant deserves opportunities to learn the skills and resources to foster a positive and productive quality of life and attainable independence. Our dedicated team engages students toward this goal by creating instructional, practical, and vocational experiences.
With gratitude for teaching our wonderful students.
