MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Happy Second Semester, BHS ~ it is hard to believe that we are half way through our school year.

The beginning of a new semester is a chance for a fresh start, a time to set new goals, and a moment to reflect on the progress made thus far. As we step into this new chapter together, let's approach it by thinking about our core values of Belonging, Honoring, and Supporting each other to do our best work and be our best selves.

Second semester brings a flurry of activities at school interspersed with vacations and holidays off. Please continue to watch for ParentSquare notifications or check our website for all of these important events for students and families alike.

Thank you as always for your continued support,

Kristina Rodgers, BHS Principal

PTSO NOTES

Thank you for your support of the Winter Formal!
In addition to your donations from the students’ Amazon Wishlist, we were able to purchase curtains that will be used as decorations for each dance in the future. We appreciate your help as we help students build new traditions!

Mark your calendars for our next meeting on Tuesday, February 6 in the BHS library. The BHS PTSO board will meet from 6:30-7 PM, and BISD Superintendent, Amii Thompson will join us at 7 PM. There will be an opportunity for Q & A.

CTE CAREER CENTER

Career & Technical Education graphicCTE WINTER INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

The BISD Career & Technical Education (CTE) Department is coordinating unpaid internships with several local employers/organizations. Students at BHS and EHHS who are interested in interning are invited to apply to the program. This program runs from February-April 2024 (unless otherwise noted). Students will be scheduled at the worksite for interning on Mondays from 2:00 – 4:30 pm. (unless otherwise noted).

Each internship includes interactions and planned activities designed to give the students exposure to multiple aspects of the business/organization where they are interning and an authentic sense of the work, skills, and challenges that come with it. Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from the internship work site (and any other related work locations if applicable) and must commit to attend all of the planned weeks of the internship.

Student applicants must be at least 16 years old. Resumes are due Friday, February, 9th. Please click here for a list of the local organizations that are offering unpaid internship slots for the Winter 2024 Program. Please visit the CTE Internship web page for forms and next steps to apply. Visit the Career Center located in the BHS Library for questions.
