Message from the Principal

It's been another busy and productive week at BHS! On Tuesday, nearly 300 students participated in PSAT testing, taking an important step in preparing for their futures. Tonight, we look forward to celebrating our talented student musicians at the Fall Band Concert at 7:00 PM in the BHS Theater. Meanwhile, we are beginning the important work of developing our School Improvement Plan, which we will present to the School Board on November 5. Building on the shared vision we established in August and aligned with our district's new Strategic Plan, our focus is on identifying meaningful actions that will help every Spartan belong, engage, and thrive. We look forward to sharing more about our priorities and progress in the coming weeks.

We also want to celebrate the many ways our students and staff are excelling beyond the classroom. Last week, we highlighted the successes of Spartronics. Our fall athletic teams have also enjoyed tremendous success, and we are grateful to the coaches, advisors, and families who support our students in pursuing their passions. Finally, a reminder that Monday, October 26, is a districtwide professional development day, and there will be no school for students. Thank you for your continued partnership and support of BHS!

BHS PTSO Fundraiser — $5,000 to go!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our BHS community, we’ve raised $15,090 toward our $20,000 goal, with contributions from 147 families.

Our grade-level competition ends this week, and the race is tight. Freshmen are in the lead ($4,230), followed by sophomores ($4,080), juniors ($3,500), and seniors ($3,280). We’ll announce the winner on October 27, so there’s still time for any class to claim top honors.

Help us cross the finish line by donating at Givebutter.org/SpartanSpirit or shopping for Spartan gear. Donations are tax-deductible, and every contribution helps make a big difference for our BHS students and staff.

PSAT Update

This past Tuesday, 295 9-11th grade students took the PSAT-NMSQT. Student scores will be released by College Board in December. Students can get their scores by logging into Student Score Reports with the username and password they use for their College Board account. If they don’t have an account, it’s easy to create one. Please ensure students create an account using a personal email address, not frogrock.

Seniors, Order Your Cap & Gown

This morning a Jostens rep made a presentation to the Class of 2027 regarding placing cap and gown orders. Various discounts are available between now and December 1. Orders can be placed online on the Jostens website. Scholarship information can be found on the BHS website.

Please note: We have a large inventory of donated caps and gowns at the BHS Main Office. If you would prefer to borrow an item or two, please stop by and speak with Ms. Colley or Ms. Hughes.

Key Club is currently running a costume drive to benefit Camp Beausite, an organization serving youth and adults with special needs. Between now and October 31st, we invite you to donate new or gently used costumes. Donation boxes are conveniently set up around the school. Thank you for your kindness and participation in making this drive a success!
