Message from the Principal

The school year is off and running, and it has been wonderful seeing our Spartans settling into their routines, reconnecting with friends, building relationships with teachers, and getting involved throughout BHS. As we continue to BET on Blue & Gold we’re excited to invite our families to come experience BHS for themselves at our Open House on Wednesday, September 23!

The evening begins at 6:00 PM with separate Senior and Freshman Information Sessions, followed by a General Session at 6:30 PM in Paski. Beginning at 6:50 PM, families will have the opportunity to follow their student’s schedule, visit classrooms, meet teachers, and get a glimpse of their student’s daily BHS experience. Please bring your student’s class schedule, including classroom numbers, which can be found in Skyward. We’re looking forward to welcoming you to campus, strengthening the partnership between home and school, and celebrating all that makes our Spartan community special. See you September 23…Roll Sparty!
 

Annual PPRA Notice

The Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA) is a federal law that provides parents/guardians of elementary and secondary students rights regarding the collection of data for surveys, marketing, and certain physical exams. The Bainbridge Island School District Board of Directors has adopted Board Policy No. 3232 detailing the rights and obligations of the PPRA. Please read the full notice here.

BHS PTSO September 8 Meeting Recap

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this week’s BHS PTSO meeting, where Principal Dan Novick shared key priorities for the year ahead. Couldn’t make it? Catch up here:
We have lots happening this fall, including Homecoming volunteer opportunities, so stay tuned for ways to get involved. 
 
College visits start Sept 16

College Visits Start Sept 16

BHS is lucky to have over 50 college representatives visit BHS to talk with prospective students this fall! Visits start the week of September 14th.  We encourage any junior or senior interested in these colleges to sign up in Naviance. Visits take place before school and during both lunches in the Library Reading Room. 

Students can check Naviance for the full list of schools visiting and register in advance. A list of colleges is also on the BHS Calendar and posted on the Counseling Office door.
How students can register:
  1. Open Naviance via the Google waffle or the BHS Counseling homepage.
  2. Select Colleges at the top, then click College Visits under Research Colleges.
  3. Choose the visits you wish to attend.
 
PSAT

PSAT Registration/Payment due Sept 18

BHS will be offering the PSAT during the school day on Tuesday, October 20th, 2026. The PSAT is open to current 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students. More information on the test and its registration is linked here. 
 
Monday Reminder

Monday Reminder

New this year, students are in school for full days Monday through Friday. We will have one full-day or half-day release, roughly once a month, on a Monday. Here are rest of the the September Mondays:
  • Monday, September 14 — Full school day.
  • Monday, September 21 — Full school day.
  • Monday, September 28 — Our first professional development day. No school for students.

Paying for ASB Memberships & Yearbooks

ASB memberships, 2026-27 BHS yearbook and fall participation fees may be purchased now through the online payment site. 

ASB MEMBERSHIP is required to participate in sports and clubs and will trigger discounts and waivers for various school events throughout the year. (Includes BHS ASB Membership Pass to sports events - see Athletics section above for more information)

YEARBOOK– Buying a yearbook is optional, however, we order based on the number of students who buy one at the start of the school year. Once the order is placed, the number of additional yearbooks available is limited and are sold on a first come, first served basis at the end of the school year. The deadline to pre-order is October 30th.
 

Digital Tickets & Passes for Home Games

All BHS home football, volleyball and basketball game tickets are sold online through Hometown Ticketing. Families and students may purchase either individual tickets for each game they attend OR a pass for entry to multiple games this fall and winter.

STUDENTS: Once an ASB Membership is purchased through Online Payments, students can redeem a BHS ASB Membership Pass through Hometown Ticketing (link to instructions).

Important note for this Friday’s game, a membership must be purchased by 2:00pm in order to have access to the digital pass. 

FAMILIES: All game tickets will be sold online this year.  Multi-pass options are available at a discount.

Please note these rules:
  • No in-and-out privileges
  • No outside food or beverages permitted
  • No student backpacks allowed inside the stadium
  • All bags subject to search
  • Middle school and elementary school students will not be admitted without an adult
 

Important Senior Information

Seniors, your last year at BHS has begun! We want to make sure you and your families stay on top of dates and deadlines. You can refer to the Senior Information page periodically as dates are always being added.

First deadline: Senior Portraits and Grad Ads are due October 30.
