Message from the Principal

Dear BHS Families,

As the school year comes to a close, I want to thank you for your support during my time as your interim principal. Serving the Bainbridge High School community has been a rewarding experience.

It has been a pleasure getting to know your students, collaborating with families, and working alongside our dedicated staff. I am grateful for the welcoming environment and the strong sense of community here on Bainbridge Island. Thank you for making my time at BHS so memorable. Saturday is graduation. Congratulations to the Class of 2026!

Please join me in welcoming Dan Novick as he officially takes over the role of principal. Many of you have already met or worked with him during this transition. I am confident his leadership will provide steady continuity and success for the school moving forward.

Thank you again for a great school year. I wish all of you a safe, relaxing, and enjoyable summer ahead.

Warmly,
Ruth Medsker

Thank You from the BHS PTSO

As the school year comes to a close, we want to thank the entire BHS community for your generosity and support. Through your donations and volunteer efforts, we were able to provide teacher and staff appreciation events, enhance student activities like the inaugural Homecoming Carnival, and deliver supplemental classroom resources.

The school spirit on Bainbridge Island is truly unmatched, and we are grateful to everyone who helped make this year a success.

With appreciation,
The 2025–2026 BHS PTSO Board

Important Notice Regarding Year-End Absences

Summer vacation is just around the corner! As we get ready to celebrate a fantastic year, our front office is working hard to tie up all the final loose ends. If your student will miss school during these last couple of days, please make sure to request their absence be excused before the final bell rings! Our absolute cutoff for accepting any recent absence notes is dismissal time on the last day of school. Thank you for a wonderful year, and we wish everyone a happy and safe summer!

Important Information

Summer School for Credit Recovery

BISD will be offering credit recovery for any student who failed a core, academic course. Summer school will be supported and run by Eagle Harbor High School staff and will be an online, self-paced program that runs June 23rd-August 30th. Students must complete their course no later than August 30th- no extensions will be given. BHS Counselors/EHHS staff will be reaching out to students and families about the online course and expectations once semester 2 grades are finalized.

Rising seniors - is your student applying to a 4-year college? Please read our college counseling update on what your student should be doing over the summer. We strongly advise students to start working on their applications/essay(s) and finalizing their college list before school starts!

City of Bainbridge Island (COBI) Child Reunification Team (CRT)

Volunteer Hours Available for Teen Actors

The City of Bainbridge Island (COBI) Child Reunification Team (CRT) and Bainbridge Prepares, are creating a comprehensive plan for several kinds of potential Bainbridge Island emergencies, including a major event that might prevent families from reuniting with their children for several days.

On July 23 we will be running drill at Bainbridge High School to practice the process of reunifying parents and children. This is an invite for "kid" actors (and adult chaperones). We could also use teens to act either as older siblings or adults. Age 8-18 volunteers needed.

If you have a youth group that might like to participate, please reach out! We will collect volunteers via this form and get back to you promptly with more information.

**This qualifies for volunteer hours!
