PLEASE READ: Prom Details and Expectations

Dear BISD Families,
As we approach one of the most anticipated events of the year, we want to share the essential details and safety expectations for this year's Prom to ensure a safe, and memorable evening for everyone. Prom will be held at the Sanctuary Ballroom at the Lotte Hotel, with students entering from 5th Avenue. Doors will open at 7:00 PM and close promptly at 8:30 PM, and absolutely no late admissions will be permitted. The event wraps up at 10:00 PM, giving students plenty of time to safely walk in groups back to the 10:50 PM ferry, as the hotel is an easy 10-minute walk from the terminal.
To ensure a secure environment, all BISD students and their guests must bring a picture ID for identity verification. Please remember that all ticket sales are final and non-refundable; tickets will not be sold at the door, and transferring or selling them is strictly prohibited. Additionally, all bags will be searched prior to entry, and there is no re-entry allowed once a student leaves the venue.
We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for disrespecting dance guidelines. As part of our commitment to ensuring a secure and memorable evening, we also want to remind everyone that Prom is a strictly safe and sober event. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy regarding the possession, consumption, or influence of alcohol, drugs, or tobacco products of any kind, including vapes. Bag checks will be conducted at the door, and if a student is found in violation of these policies, parents will be contacted immediately to pick them up. Please emphasize to your student that the venue features incredibly sensitive smoke detectors, including in the restrooms. If an alarm is triggered, it forces a full building evacuation and a fire department inspection, which would effectively end Prom early for everyone.
Thank you for talking with your student about making responsible choices and keeping themselves and our community safe. If you have any questions regarding these policies, please reach out to the school administration prior to the night of the event.
Best regards,
BISD Administration
