Supplemental Levy Information

Learn More about the Supplemental Levy

This levy helps bridge the gap between what the state funds and what it actually costs to provide the education our community values—supporting strong academics, creative opportunities, and the well-being of every student.

Proposed rate: $0.08 per $1,000 of assessed value in 2026, $0.11 in 2027, and $0.13 in 2028. Even with this addition, overall school taxes will decrease as older bond taxes expire.

Smarter Balanced Assessment

SBA Results Available in Family Access

If your student was in grades 3 - 8, 10, or 11 (science only) in June of 2025, SBA results have been uploaded and are accessible in Skyward Family Access. To access results:

  1. Log in to Skyward: Family Access
  2. On the left side of the window, select: Report Cards and School Info
  3. Click: Spring 2025 Smarter Balanced Score Report
  4. This will download a PDF with both ELA and Math (and science for grades 5, 8, and 11)
  5. If you have any questions, please contact your student’s teacher or counselor
The Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) has established Graduation Pathway cut scores for the Smarter Balanced exams as follows:
  • English Language Arts (ELA): 2548
  • Math: 2595
Students who earn these scores or higher have met their Graduation Pathway requirement.

If your student did not meet these scores, please know that there are multiple other ways to fulfill this graduation requirement. Your student’s counselor will work with them to develop a plan for meeting this requirement.

Post High School Opportunities Survey

Family Input Requested – Post-High School Opportunities Survey

We’re asking families to share their perspectives on how we can best support students as they plan for life after high school.

The survey takes about 5 minutes to complete, and should be completed by the end of October.

By lending your voice, you help us make thoughtful, informed decisions that benefit students, families, and staff. Thank you for your partnership.

Take the BISD Community Survey

Your input matters! BISD is planning for the future, and we invite families to share their perspectives in our short Community Survey. The feedback we gather will help guide district priorities and goals for the next five years.
