Bainbridge High School is proud to announce the hiring of 2025 Hall of Fame inductee Scott Orness as the new head coach of the boys basketball program.  A respected figure in Washington high school basketball, Orness brings decades of coaching experience, a proven track record of success, and a strong reputation for developing student-athletes both on and off the court.

We are thrilled to welcome Coach Orness back to Bainbridge, Scott is not only an outstanding coach but also a person of great character who leads with integrity and passion. His commitment to building strong teams and empowering young athletes aligns perfectly with the values of our program and community.

Orness previously led the Bainbridge Spartans to several successful seasons during his earlier tenures and most recently served as head coach at North Kitsap High School for 9 seasons where he guided his teams to 9 straight Olympic League titles, 9 straight State appearances placing six times, and winning the State Championship in 2020. 

“I’m honored and excited to return to Bainbridge High School,” said Orness. “As a teacher of 23 years in the BISD, this community holds a special place in my heart, and I look forward to working with our student-athletes to build something special.”
