Small Group Counseling Sessions
|
The high school counselors are excited to share that we will be offering small group counseling to our sophomore students after winter break.
What is group counseling? Group counseling is a form of counseling where a small group of people (8-10) meet regularly to discuss, interact, and explore problems with each other and the group leader. Group counseling seeks to give students a safe and comfortable place on campus to learn strategies and skills, connect with other students or discuss topics of mutual concern in a confidential setting. Members gain insight into their own thoughts and behavior, and offer suggestions and support to others. It's also a fun way to meet new people and not feel alone. :)
The group sessions will be offered on a weekly basis (about 6-8 sessions). They'll be during a class period but on a rotating schedule so you won't miss the same class period every time.
After we receive the responses, a counselor will call the student down to see if this is a good fit.
Are you interested? Students only (using their Frogrock email) will need to fill-out this Google Form by Wednesday, December 11th.

Grade 11 College Planning Presentation
|
Since we didn't have CCS time last Tuesday (due to the wind storm and subsequent change of class schedule), the Grade 11 College Planning presentation was postponed until Tuesday, January 28th from 10:30-11:30. If you signed-up on the Google form already, there's nothing more you need to do. If you haven't signed-up yet, please do so by filling out this Google Form before 1:30 pm on Monday, January 27th.
We also developed this activity, How to Create a Great College List, that will help you compile a preliminary list of colleges. It includes a video that walks you through the activity, a self-assessment, and resources so you can start researching colleges on your own. We recommend completing this over winter break.
