MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL
Photo of lawnHappy May, BHS Community!

It is hard to believe we are already well into our wind-down of culminating school year activities - our seniors are gearing up for so many exciting traditions in the next month while our underclass students have registered for next year and we have begun building our master schedule for the fall. I want to give a tremendous shoutout to both our amazing students who put in time outside of the classroom to live out their passions as well as try new things. This week’s art festival in our library highlights amazing work by our student artists, some who have only begun discovering their talents through their classes at BHS. The same can be said for so many of our unique and vibrant clubs - extracurricular opportunities are truly as equally as important in our school as the academic excellence, and it is so amazing to watch our students discover and foster their talents while they are with us. On that note, a shout out to our amazing teachers and advisors who mentor and support these opportunities - nothing would exist without your dedication!

If you are on our campus in the next few weeks, please take a moment to appreciate the “meadow” that is growing on our central lawn between the 100 and 200 buildings. We are participating in “no mow May” in coordination with our BHS Garden Club, as a way to support the work of our pollinator Mason bees this time of year. 9th grade English classes are also looking at themes of environmental justice during their current unit and have been supporting the work of beekeeping!

Looking forward to a wonderful final month of school!

Go Spartans!

Kristina Rodgers, BHS Principal
