I am pleased to share several achievements and recent activities. Please join me in congratulating our Spartronics and FBLA teams. Both groups performed well in their recent competitions, showing the skill and dedication that represent our school so well. Additionally, it was inspiring to see one of our own baseball players, JR Ritchie (2022 grad), pitch for the Atlanta Braves against the Seattle Mariners. Their hard work has paid off, and we appreciate how they represented our community.
In addition to these achievements, our students have shown great focus during the current testing season. Whether taking Advanced Placement (AP) exams or the Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA), students have been arriving on time and taking their assessments seriously.
Looking ahead, I am happy to welcome our new principal, Dan Novick, who has been visiting to get to know our staff and students. Mr. Novick is already involved in the planning process for the 2026-2027 school year to ensure a smooth transition this fall. His presence on campus has been a positive addition as we prepare for the next chapter of our school's journey.
Finally, I want to extend a sincere thank you to the PTSO for organizing the Staff Appreciation Lunch. Our teachers and support staff work hard for our students, and the luncheon was a wonderful way to recognize all of our staff. The event was well-received and served as a nice reminder of the supportive community we share.
Thank you for your continued partnership.

Join us on May 21 at 7:00 PM in the BHS Library for a general PTSO meeting as we review and discuss the latest Healthy Youth Survey data for our school community. This important information provides insight into student well-being, mental health, safety, and other factors that impact student success. It's a great opportunity for families to better understand current trends, ask questions, and learn how we can work together to support our students. You'll also get a chance to meet Dan Novick, incoming BHS principal. We look forward to seeing you there!

As we move into the final weeks of the school year, many high school students experience the end-of-year slump—feeling tired, stretched thin, and ready for the year to wrap up. This is a normal part of the cycle, but daily attendance still matters. Being in class supports credit completion, final projects, assessments, and staying connected to teachers and peers through the end of the year.
Thank you for partnering with us to support students through the final stretch of the year. Your encouragement makes a real difference as students push through to the finish line.
