Message from the Principal

We have a busy week ahead with AP and SBA testing. Here is the adjusted bell schedule for the week. Students taking the SBA will need to be here at 8:45 and will have testing in the morning and attend a modified class schedule in the afternoon.  AP Exams have various start times. It is critical that AP students know their specific exam day and reporting time and arrive at school by then--late arrivals disrupt the testing environment and will require make-up sessions.

Students who are not testing but need to be at school, for example those who require district transportation, will be able to study independently in the library. For more information look at the tabs below.

Lastly, preparation is essential for success, so please ensure students get plenty of sleep and bring their fully charged Chromebooks.

Next week is also Staff Appreciation. We are so grateful for our hardworking educators. To celebrate, our incredible PTSO will be hosting a Pasta Palooza lunch for the staff on Thursday. Thank you to the PTSO for organizing. Please see the PTSO tab for how you can help.

Finally, we hope you all enjoy a warm and relaxing weekend. Take this time to recharge and soak up the sunshine before we dive into a productive week.

Best,
Ruth Medsker

State Testing ~ May 5-8

Smarter Balanced Assessments are May 5-8. See details here. Assessment sessions for students in 10th grade (and 11th-grade students who have been notified via Parentsquare) will test starting at 8:45 am each day. 2026 AP Testing May 4-8, 11-15

AP Testing starts next week

Students and families, please read through this very important information that was given to students in CCS on Tuesday. This walks through the testing schedule, how to prepare, and what to bring and what not to bring on test day. Please help us ensure your student is well prepared for their AP exam!

Summer Sports Registration opens May 1st

In order to participate in BHS Summer sports, athletes/parents must register in Final Forms and have a current physical on file. Registration will open on May 1st in Final Forms.

When registering in Final Forms you will see a large blue button that says 26/27 at the top of the screen that you need to click on. This will get you signed up for summer sports. Check the box for your sport next year in its season if your athlete is going to participate ~ it will save you time!

If your summer sport requires a fee, your coach will inform you.

Click here for a list of the programs that are planning to do Summer practices or open gyms/fields as of now. Email Julie Larson-Hughes if you have any questions. jlarsonhughes@bisd303.org

It’s time for 2026 Staff Appreciation Week

To celebrate, we’re hosting a luncheon for BHS teachers and staff on Thursday, May 7. This year’s theme is Pasta-palooza, featuring a build-your-own pasta bar as we recognize the incredible people who do so much for our students every day.

You can help by bringing an item, volunteering at the lunch, or making a donation. Every contribution helps make the day special.

Thank you for your support and generosity. Together, we’ll make this a pasta-tively delicious celebration!

Sincerely,
BHS PTSO
