Today, students participated in the Beyond BHS Career & College Fair, an event designed to introduce them to the many opportunities available after graduation. They met with representatives from two‑ and four‑year colleges (public, private, in‑state, and out‑of‑state), apprenticeship programs, local employers, and military pathways.
This evening, we will host sessions for families. If you’re unable to attend, resources are available on the BHS Counseling page: https://bhs.bisd303.org/98116_3
As we move into longer days and the clocks spring forward, we often see student behavior relax a bit. Please remind your student that arriving to class on time matters—teachers share important information at the start of class, and late arrivals are disruptive. Also, a reminder that cell phones should not be out during instructional time. We have also seen an increase in food deliveries (Uber Eats, DoorDash, etc.) to the school. This has created challenges for our office staff. Beginning on Monday, March 9, we will no longer accept food deliveries. All deliveries will be turned away at the BHS Main Office. I am amazed by the culinary services here at BHS, and they offer a wide variety of great options for students.

The Spring Highly Capable referral window will close on March 6, 2026 at 5:00 PM. This is the final week to submit referrals.
Important Information: Students in grades K-1, 3-4, 6–11 may be referred by parents/guardians, teachers, or community members if they were not new to the district in the fall.
If you are considering a referral, please be sure to submit all materials before the March 6th deadline. Late referrals cannot be accepted.

Families of 9th-11th graders: Please remind your students that course requests will close on Monday, March 9th at 9 am. Students need to choose their classes for the 2026-27 school year using their Skyward account. All course descriptions and important information regarding this process can be found here.
Class of 2027: Counselors will be sending a calendar link to all juniors in late March to sign up for their Junior Conference. At this meeting, counselors will review the student’s graduation checklist, senior schedule and guidance on their post high school plans with a suggested summer To-Do list. We look forward to this one on one time with our juniors!

Seniors, Cap & Gown Distribution Day is next Friday, March 13 between 11:45 AM - 1:15 PM. If you won't be on campus next week, a friend or family member can pick up your order for you.
If you haven't placed your order through Jostens yet, it is not too late. Your items may not arrive by next week's Distribution Day, but there is still plenty of time to order before graduation. Remember, we have lots of gowns, and even some caps, available to borrow. Come to the BHS Main Office to check one out.

We are seeing an uptick in cases of influenza since the return from break. Flu is a common seasonal illness that spreads easily in school settings, especially during the winter months. Symptoms may include fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, fatigue, and sometimes nausea or vomiting.
We ask families to please keep students home if they are experiencing flu-like symptoms and until they have been fever-free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication. Practicing good hand hygiene, covering coughs and sneezes, and staying home when sick are the best ways to help prevent further spread.
If you have questions or concerns about your student’s symptoms, please contact your healthcare provider or the BHS Health Room Nurses.
Thank you for helping keep our school community healthy.
